How it works?
Choose your learning activity, filter words your way and start learning right away.
1. Choose your learning activity
Build your vocabulary
Choose "Flashcards" to learn words and "Quiz" to test what you've learned. Choose "Write" to learn how to spell them.
Learn verb conjugations
Choose Conjugations to explore verb forms, or Verb Practice to select the correct form for a pronoun.
2. Choose what to study
For vocabulary activities
Choose a category, a word type, or combine both to narrow your selection. Matching cards load automatically as you make your choices. Flashcards, Quiz and Write each keep their own filter selections.
For verb activities
In Conjugations, choose one tense to view its forms. In Verb Practice, select one or more tenses; questions combine a random verb, pronoun and selected tense. The two activities keep their tense selections separately.
On mobile devices or small screens, tap the Filters or Tenses heading, or the button beside it, to open or close your choices.
3. Start practising with your cards
Once you've chosen your learning activity and filtered words your way, you're ready to practise. Browse the cards loaded according to your preferences, turn over any card you like and learn at your own pace.
Discover the details
Explore the Turkish and English meanings on word cards, along with noun gender, adjective forms, the past participle and example sentences. Conjugation cards show the forms for each pronoun in your chosen tense.
Listen to the French
Listen to the pronunciation of the word you're studying or its example sentences with a single tap, whenever you like. Simply tap the audio button.
Move at your own pace
Use Previous and Next, or swipe left or right on mobile devices in any learning activity. Except in Verb Practice, you can also enter a card number to jump straight to it. In Verb Practice, the counter shows the current question and the total number of questions for your selected tenses.
Make the study space your own
The controls below the cards let you adjust your practice.
Focus
Focus on the study area and blur distracting elements.
Sequential / Random
Follow the sequence or shuffle the cards. Verb Practice always uses a shuffled round without repeating new questions; at the end, choose New round to start again.
Cards / List
In Flashcards and Conjugations, switch between a card and a list. Select a list item to open its card.
Auto Audio
Switch Auto Audio on or off. In Flashcards, Quiz and Conjugations it reads the French word when a new card opens; in Write and Verb Practice it reads the correct answer after you give it.
Make pronunciation work for you
Google Chrome gave the most consistent results in our tests; we recommend it for the best experience. If you hear no sound or the pronunciation sounds English, choose another French voice in Audio settings and listen to the example. On a Mac using Safari, turning off Lockdown Mode for this website and reloading may help; this reduces protection for that site. Voice availability can vary by device and browser.
